2018 NFL Mock Draft: New York Jets 3-round mock 3.0
By Sean Dyer
There’s no better time of the year than NFL mock draft season! Let’s take a look at how the first three rounds could play out for the New York Jets.
It is time for our third NFL mock draft for the New York Jets! The NFL season is officially over with the Philadelphia Eagles winning the Super Bowl. That’s right, the New England Patriots finally lost!
With the season now over for every NFL team (obviously the Jets season has been over for quite a bit), the entire league looks to the offseason, which means free agency and the NFL Draft.
We can save free agency predictions for another time but what we expect or hope to happen in free agency does affect our mock drafts. At the same time, nothing is guaranteed in an NFL offseason. You may anticipate a player signing with your team but until he signs on the dotted line, you can’t be sure. Just ask the Indianapolis Colts.
Many fans see mutual interest between the Jets and cornerback Morris Claiborne and consider New York one of the favorites to sign quarterback Kirk Cousins. However, neither player can currently put “New York Jets employee” on their tax returns, so cornerback and quarterback are still needs for Gang Green.
In the past, I’ve been switching which website’s rankings I used. My first mock draft used CBS Sports prospect rankings and my second used Draft Wire. Today, instead of using just one set of rankings, I used CBS Sports, Draft Wire, NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 prospects, and my own judgment to get an idea of where each prospect would be drafted.
And for those who haven’t been following along with my past mock drafts, the New York Jets have two second-round picks because of the Sheldon Richardson trade with the Seattle Seahawks.
So without further ado, here is my third three-round NFL mock draft for the New York Jets!
