New York Giants: What Eagles winning the Super Bowl means
Well, what we New York Giants fans hoped would never happen has happened. The Philadelphia Eagles have won the Super Bowl. In doing so, Nick Foles became the second quarterback to beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. The other? Eli Manning, twice. So what does this mean for the Giants and their fans?
The Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl in franchise history Sunday, beating the New England Patriots 41-33 in what was a nightmare for New York Giants fans. Two of the three teams we hate most battling it out for the Super Bowl. Could it get any worse? Well, it turns out it can, the Eagles actually won it. So what does this mean for us, the fans, and for the Giants as a whole?
Well, first off what this means is that the Eagles are here to stay. If they can win a Super Bowl with their backup quarterback, who knows what they can do with their franchise quarterback. In Carson Wentz’s 13 games before getting injured, he threw for a total of 33 touchdowns and 3,296 yards. In Nick Foles’s six games (including playoffs) after taking over for Wentz, he threw for 11 touchdowns to go with 1,508 yards.
Had Wentz not gotten injured, there is a good chance we would be talking about Carson Wentz the MVP, rather than Tom Brady. With that being said, it is looking very good for the Eagles, with their three running backs and all. Obviously, this means that it doesn’t look so good for the Giants.

Having to play two games a year against a team who has the potential to continue to win Super Bowls is not good. Having to play two games a year against a defensive line that can get to the quarterback with ease is even worse considering how terrible the Giants offensive line has been.
As you can tell, the Eagles winning the Super Bowl only means it’s getting worse for the Giants, but the good news is there are 14 other games in the regular season.
What does it mean for New York Giants fans?
Well, Giants fans, it means we can no longer say we’re the only team to beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. It also means that we can no longer say the Eagles have never won a Super Bowl, which is even worse.
If you’re friends with an Eagles fan, I think the easiest way to keep your sanity would be to block their number and play it off. If you saw the way Eagles fans were celebrating in Philadelphia on Sunday night, then you know they’ll be talking about this for quite some time now.
