More Hansen and Stewart

Does everyone remember that the Jets selected wide receivers in back to back rounds of last year’s draft, both of whom made the team? Admittedly it is difficult to remember. The two selected were Chad Hansen and ArDarius Stewart, who combined have recorded 13 receptions. It’s not as if these two guys have been seen all over the football field, but yes, they were drafted in last year’s draft in back to back rounds.

This week would be a perfect time to see just what the Jets have in these two guys. John Morton should write them into the game plan significantly. Get Stewart the ball in space. Open up the playbook for all of the routes these two guys are comfortable with. It’s important to decipher what type of roles these guys may have going forward. Are they strictly situational players, or can they move up and make a bigger statement with their play?

In 2017 the Jets discovered Robby Anderson. What a find he was. I mean, he showed a bit last year but clearly came into his own in 2017. But the Jets need another playmaker. Jermaine Kearse is good but he doesn’t read as a down the field playmaker. They may work on it during the draft but wouldn’t it be nice to see if they potentially have another player here? Let these two guys play and see if they can play on this level.
