Let the Defense Go Crazy

More from Empire Writes Back

Every week, up comes the topic of a pass rush. If we looked back at the keys to the game each week, not too many came out without that as one of the keys to a victory. Truth be told, no quarterback likes to be under pressure. Knock them off of their spot, the likelihood of success grows. The fundamentals of it just aren’t that hard.

It’s widely accepted that the Jets have to improve at the major positions, one of which being edge pass rusher. Wouldn’t this week be a great time to see what they have at the position? Rotate all of the guys in and out in all situations. Do they have anyone that can consistently get to the quarterback? Anything to build on at all? Sunday is the day to find out.

With that, Kacy Rodgers should game plan that way also. Game plan for it. Have fun with it. Call all kinds of exotic looks and pass rushes. Get everyone in the ball game. See who can get to the backfield and who just can’t on a consistent basis. It’s the last game of the season, let the guys play and see what happens. Maybe they will find a diamond in the rough they didn’t realize they had.
