Who are the five best left fielders in New York Mets franchise history?

One of the few bright spots in a dismal season for the New York Mets was Michael Conforto. In 109 games, Conforto batted .279 with 27 home runs and 68 RBI. He was also at .984 for a fielding percentage, playing all over the outfield but most often in left field. Conforto will be 25 when the Mets get back to the business of playing baseball.

He has plenty of time to earn his way onto this list. However he is not there just yet. What list are we talking about? Well, if you have been following you would have seen that we began a trip down Mets memory lane. We have been going around the diamond selecting the five best players at each position, counting down from five to one. Just because there have only been two World Series titles doesn’t mean there haven’t been talented players to come through Queens. There have been many.

Most recently we took a look at the best third basemen and the best shortstops to finish out the Mets infield. Now we continue the trip by stepping behind the infield dirt and into the outfield. Starting on the left side we look at the five best left fielders to play for the Mets. Ready for the count down? Here we go.
