New York Yankees: 5 left-handed relievers team could target in free agency
By Sean Dyer
Boone Logan
The New York Yankees had a stud left-handed reliever from 2010 to 2013 and his name was Boone Logan.
Logan was a consistent force in the Yankees bullpen for four seasons. He logged at least 39 innings each year and had a cumulative 3.38 ERA. Logan also struck out 202 batters in 175.2 innings.

Logan then signed a three-year, $16.5 million deal with the Colorado Rockies and he seemed to lose his magic. He posted a 4.64 ERA in three seasons with Colorado before putting up a 4.71 ERA in his lone season with the Cleveland Indians in 2017.
Despite his struggles since leaving the Bronx, Logan has continued to shut down lefties. Over the last three seasons, left-handed hitters have hit just .191 against Logan compared to .273 for right-handed hitters.
Perhaps a reunion with his former pitching and bullpen coaches would get Logan back on track. With Larry Rothschild and Mike Harkey, Logan excelled and both coaches are still with the New York Yankees.
Boone Logan and the Yankees could look to reunite for a bounce-back year and round out their loaded bullpen.

Again, adding a left-handed reliever would be a luxury for this New York Yankees team. However, if Brian Cashman decides to pursue one, Mike Minor and Boone Logan seem like the best options.
Minor is coming off of the best season out of anyone in this group and Logan has the best potential to bounce back if reunited with his former pitching and bullpen coaches.
It could be a quiet offseason for the New York Yankees but that doesn’t mean it won’t be an exciting one.
