MLB free agency will soon get into high gear and the New York Yankees could use another starting pitcher.

After Masahiro Tanaka opted into the final three years of his contract, the New York Yankees appear to have four of their five starting pitchers set with Tanaka joining Luis Severino, Sonny Gray, and Jordan Montgomery.

The Yankees have a few prospects who could compete for the final rotation spot. Many Yankee fans want to see what Chance Adams can do after he’s dominated the minor leagues the past two seasons.

Although the kids will likely get a chance to compete, it is in New York’s best interest to add at least one veteran arm to both increase competition and provide depth.

The big name everyone wants and thinks the Yankees will sign is Shohei Otani, the Japanese Babe Ruth. I’ve written about the Yankees signing Otani a few times and believe they will heavily pursue him.

However, he’s not included in this article because I stuck with MLB free agents. Otani is an international free agent.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at five options for the New York Yankees’ final starting rotation spot.
