Go Get the Quarterback

Ryan Fitzpatrick firmly believes that he can run around and throw it wherever he wants, sort of like Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers. Let’s evaluate that. He is not as fast as Rodgers, doesn’t have the arm of Favre and isn’t as accurate as either one of them. Other than that he is an exact parallel. Obviously I am being a bit tongue in cheek here but the point is that if you get after Fitzpatrick he can be shut down before he can get going.

Last week the Jets got their pass rush going. They entered the contest against Buffalo with 11 sacks and added seven that night. That included two by Jordan Jenkins, the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Everybody got right, including Muhammad Wilkerson, who we all previously thought was working just hard enough to get a paycheck. He and Leonard Williams basically tore up their opponents and spit them out on the way to a dominating performance. This Bucs line has not played well and the Jets need to take quick advantage.

Next: Dancing with the Jets

Who would have thought that we would be talking about the Buccaneers being a winnable game? That is why the NFL is so great. No matter what the conventional wisdom is, anything can happen. This “horrible” Jets team may just be .500 at the break. It is a tough schedule after the bye week, but it certainly has been fun to watch thus far. Let’s see if the Jets can finish out the set before the bye on a high note.
