Acquiring Young Talent
A franchise centerpiece is essential to any winning organization. For the New York Knicks, we all know that to be Kristaps Porzingis. What sets KP apart from the rest of the league is his ability to do just about anything on the court. With that being said, his play this season has been outstanding, proving he can succeed without Carmelo in the picture.

When Scott Perry finally made the deal to send Melo to Oklahoma City, the return package was not what fans expected. As this move would officially mark the start of a rebuild, a draft pick was expected in return. Though the Knicks did not receive one, they did acquire two young players who were able to make an immediate impact.
Enes Kanter and Doug McDermott are not the flashiest players, but they have major potential. This season, Kanter has served as the primary rebounder. This role complements KP’s game nicely. McDermott, on the other hand, is an excellent shooter off the bench. Both guys are young, talented, and happy to be Knicks, which should be all that matters.
