New York Jets Week 9 Position Report Card
By Nolan Rich
Like the wide outs, it was a quiet night for the tight ends considering there were only fourteen catches to go around. Austin Seferian-Jenkins would have had another touchdown to his 2017, had the play not been overruled by the officials. Once again it was the guys in stripes that were Seferian-Jenkins biggest challenge instead of the opposing defense.
On the night he would finish with two catches for 20 yards. In what had become a trend tight end Eric Tomlinson had another one catch game, but it was for six yards and he couldn’t find the end zone like last week.
Despite the small contributions in the passing game, this unit was solid in run blocking helping the Jets to one of their best rushing performances of the year.
