New York Giants: Could We See Saquon Barkley in a Giants Uniform Next Year?
As you may know, the New York Giants are pretty bad this year, which doesn’t seem like a good thing but it could be a blessing in disguise. The Giants may get a top-five pick which could help them largely in the future.
The New York Giants have had running back problems since they got rid of Brandon Jacobs. Well, that could be over following the 2018 NFL Draft. The G-Men are off to a 1-6 start and it doesn’t appear to be getting any better since they are without their top two wide receivers. The good news is that the Giants will likely get a top-five pick in the draft.
As many problems as New York has, the only position worth fixing in the top five is their running back problem. Unless you’re the Kansas City Chiefs and you decide to draft Eric Fisher first overall, there is a good chance you’re not going to draft an offensive lineman with a top-five pick.
Some of the problems the Giants need to fix are their left tackle, running back, and I’m gonna say its quarterback problems. The good news is they have a quarterback who may have some potential in Davis Webb. The bad news is they don’t have a running back replacement or a left tackle replacement.

This is where Saquon Barkley comes in. The Penn State running back has been tearing it up this year and he has been leading the Heisman Race since week one. If the New York Giants are going to fix their running back problems, Saquon Barkley is the solution.
If Barkley does decide to declare for the Draft following this season, he will undoubtedly go top ten and there is a good chance he will go top five.
In eight games, Barkley has racked up 801 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns to go along with 471 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. Not to mention he has one passing touchdown and two kick returns for touchdowns.
