Which New York Jets earned their wings against the Jacksonville Jaguars?

The New York Jets somehow are at .500 after an overtime win over the Jaguars. The offense has found some chemistry with Josh McCown at the helm and the defense made enough plays to secure an overtime win. Chandler Catanzaro hit the field goal to win it and the Jets are 2-2. Who would have thought?

Each week, we pick three guys to give their wings to. They are like game balls but since they are the Jets, they earn their wings. Get it? Let’s see who earned their wings this week for the Jets.

BILAL POWELL: It was a career day for Powell. He benefited by starting the game due to the injury to Matt Forte and he took advantage. Powell carried the ball 21 times for 163 yards and a touchdown. Granted, 75 yards came on one run, but even if you take that run out, 20 carries for 88 yards is not a bad day either. He also added four catches for 27 yards out of the backfield. Most Jets fans have believed that if you involve Powell, good things will happen. A great deal of proof came this afternoon at Met Life.

OFFENSIVE LINE: Time to give out one to an entire group. Yes, they gave up five sacks, but that wasn’t the reason. Look at the output in the running game. Powell put in the 163 yards and rookie Elijah McGuire added 93 yards and his first career touchdown.

The line was opening holes that anyone could run through. In the ground attack, even with starter Brian Winters out with injury, was able to dominate. One didn’t deserve the wings over another so the entire unit gets the award.

It has been a long time since the Jets have run that well am I right?

KONY EALY: The most obvious way for a pass rusher to make a difference in a game is with sacks. Kony Ealy didn’t get there for one all day but he still made an impact. He got his hands up and deflected three passes. It’s not the flashy play but it is an impact one. If you can’t get there, get your hands up. Ealy did that and he made his presence felt.

He also put up an interception. You go big fella.
