The New York Giants need to take play calling duties away from Ben McAdoo.

Don’t get me wrong, I personally love Ben McAdoo as the Giants head coach. However, I do not love him as our head coach and offensive coordinator.

McAdoo had a great season in his first year as head coach in 2016. In 2017 he is off to a rough start. The first time I questioned why McAdoo was calling the plays was in the first quarter when the Giants had a 3rd and 13 and McAdoo called for a run to Shane Vereen up the right side.

If it’s the first quarter and you’re already down 7-0 why are you running it on 3rd and 13? That simply makes no sense to me. Mike Sullivan knows what he is doing as the offensive coordinator, so let him call the plays and step away from it a little bit.

At the time I am writing this the Giants have scored a total of ten points with 333 yards in 97 minutes this season. This is because of two people, Ben McAdoo their head coach, and Ereck Flowers their left tackle.

Next: Is Eli the problem or the pieces around him?

Unfortunately for Flowers he had a tough match-up tonight as he was pitted against Ezekiel Ansah. In the first half Ansah had two sacks and then to open up the second half he got another and promptly let us know after he put Eli Manning to the turf. Flowers is going to have to play better if Manning is going to have any chance to get the ball down field consistently.

Ben McAdoo needs to turn over the play calling to Mike Sullivan once and for all and then maybe then we will see more than single digits on the scoreboard every game. Let the head coach be the head coach and someone else call the plays. It makes too much sense.
