New York Giants: Without Odell Beckham Jr. they look lost
What’s in store in week two?
Expect Odell Beckham Jr. to play in week two. Seeing he was a game-time decision for last night’s game in Dallas he should be more than ready for Monday night. Having OBJ running around the field will help the G-Men in a huge way. Odell will make openings for Sterling Shepard, Brandon Marshall and Evan Engram as well as giving Eli Manning his favorite target back.
The biggest question as we approach week two is if the offensive line can help at all. The offensive line was just awful on Sunday night and they’re going to have to step up if the Giants have any plans of making it back to the playoffs in 2017.
The offensive line and specifically Bobby Hart could not stop anyone from getting to Eli Manning. Now not all the blame can be put on the O-Line as Eli Manning stayed in the pocket way too long on each and every play just waiting for someone to have 10 yards of separation before he threw the ball.
Next: Takeaways from the Giants opening game
Having Odell Beckham jr. on the field should help with Eli’s confidence in week two. It seems that Manning is only confident throwing the ball to Beckham because that’s the only time he ever takes chances. The only time he took a chance last night was when he was picked off looking for Engram.
Other than that sole exception it seemed as if Eli did not throw the ball unless he knew he could complete the pass. In turn he stayed in the pocket too long and was sacked three times because of it.
