The New York Jets must stop LeSean  McCoy if they want any chance to beat the Bills.

The New York Jets finally begin the regular season on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Finally all the speculation can come to an end and they can decide it between the white lines. The time for predictions is over and the season is ready for kickoff! It’s about time, isn’t it?

The Bills are expecting to have Tyrod Taylor ready to go week one, though he is currently in concussion protocol. Taylor has been successful against the Jets in the past, posting a 3-1 record against them in four previous battles. His touchdown to interception ratio is 4:1 and his passer rating is 95.0. However, over the same four games, a certain running back has been dominant, and stopping him is key to victory.

His name is LeSean McCoy.

More from Empire Writes Back

Everybody knows “Shady” McCoy. He spent the early part of his career in Philadelphia before spending the last two seasons with Buffalo.

In four games against the Jets, McCoy has averaged 4.96 yards per carry. He has rushed for over 100 yards twice against New York, both in team victories. Last year, a mere 69 yards against the Jets over both games and Buffalo lost them both.

If McCoy runs well it will open up the passing lanes for Taylor or whomever else plays quarterback. The Jets secondary is quite young as all fans know. New York could be in trouble if there are a lot of one on one matchups down the field.

During this preseason, the Jets were tied for the league lead in sacks with 17. A good running game, however, will slow down that pass rush. McCoy could wreck this game all by himself. Nobody thinks that the Jets can come back from a big deficit.
