The new look of the front office with Scott Perry as GM

Once Jackson and the Knicks parted ways, Steve Mills stepped in his place and the organization set out for a new general manager.

The signing of Scott Perry was a great addition to the front office.

Perry has had a pretty impressive career so far. His NBA ties go way back to his first job with the Detroit Pistons in 2000.

President of Basketball Operations at the time, Joe Dumars gave Perry his first job as a front office executive.

Perry had much to do with the army Detroit built during the early 2000’s. His time spent in the motor city resulted in six consecutive trips to the eastern conference finals and a 2004 world championship.

Perry was also involved in drafting Kevin Durant in the one season he spent as the assistant general manager for the Seattle Sonics.

Throughout his time in Orlando as the general manager, he influenced draft decisions like Victor Oladipo, Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton.

For the brief period Perry spent in Sacramento as the Vice President of basketball operations for the Kings, he made his impact noticeable.

Perry had a hand in what may have been the best draft year the Kings have had since they drafted DeMarcus Cousins in 2010.

The amount of experience Perry has is more than enough for the hot seat in New York.

His mindset is focused on the future of the Knicks young core. Perry is excited to be in New York and to help this team win.
