Four Veterans the New York Jets Could Cut Before the Season

WR/Returner Jalin Marshall Age: 22
Surprised? I know what you may be thinking. Shouldn’t Marshall be safe to make the 53-man roster as a returner and a receiver, especially after the Jets placed Quincy Enunwa on injured reserve?
While Marshall has flashed his big-play ability, the truth is he underwhelmed as a returner last season. With the Jets bringing in Lucky Whitehead as a return specialist and the fact that the team drafted two wide receivers in the 2017 Draft, Marshall’s days could be numbered.

He’s made just two catches for 24 yards so far this preseason and is suspended the first four games of the regular season after violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Unless Marshall has a great fourth preseason game, considering the number of receivers the team has on the depth chart, coupled with the team’s other needs, it would be hard for the New York Jets to carry more than five wideouts.
