New York Giants 2017 Roster Preview: Safeties
By Sean Dyer
Final Depth Chart
The New York Giants have a very good group of safeties. They are set at strong safety with Landon Collins developing into one of the league’s top safeties. They also have two solid options at free safety in Darian Thompson and Andrew Adams.
Their fourth safety spot is a bit of an open competition. Nat Berhe is likely the frontrunner but if the injury bug bites him again, the Giants will likely move on from him.
Duke Ihenacho and Eric Pinkins are the two players primed to take Berhe’s spot if he misses time.
I think Eric Pinkins will continue to show his special teams ability and steal Nat Berhe’s spot when “The Missile” inevitably goes down with another injury.
Speaking of special teams, when it comes to kicker, punter, and long snapper, there’s not enough competition to give it a separate slideshow, so I’ll throw it in here.
Brad Wing and Zak DeOssie don’t have any competition for punter and long snapper, respectively. Aldrick Rosas and Mike Nugent are battling for the kicker job. Rosas has the leg up right now and should be able to hold off Nugent throughout the preseason.
