Buffalo Bills Drought Series: Best Bills Players
I know it seems crazy to put a punter, but very few players in team history have ever done as much in a Bills uniform.
The Pittsburg State alum went un-drafted in 1999. In 2001 he found himself on the Bills roster.
He had a tenure from 2001-2012 and the again briefly in 2013.
His prime years were right in the core of the playoff drought.
Moorman, a great Bill, quietly made the NFL 2000s all-decade team, making him just a great NFL
player.
With the Bills he made two Pro-Bowls and two All-Pro teams.
For starters he is also the guy on the painful end of this famous hit by Sean Taylor (may he RIP). Not a terrible thing.
But between Moorman’s punt foundation, that positively affects the lives of children in Western New York, his loyalty and presence on the Bills, even as punter, rose above all.
Moorman continues to do good in the Buffalo community.
Being the lone bright spot on some brutal early 2000s rosters, made him very difficult to leave off this list.
Next Sunday, we’ll take a look at the worst draft selections the Bills have made in the last 17 seasons.
