The New York Giants rank second in Bleacher Report’s NFL Preseason Power Rankings. Is it a legitimate ranking for the boys in blue?

The New York Giants slid in at number two in Chris Simms’s Bleacher Report Power Rankings, and it’s for good reason.

Simms had the Giants finish at number seven in his 2016 Power Rankings. Simms’s power rankings are some of the best league-wide, and he merits a ton of respect as a former player.

The former quarterback makes a great case for Big Blue at number two.

After finishing last season with an 11-5 record, the New York Giants baffled fans of the NFL on all phases of the ball.

They have a top defense, and a high powered offense, and now they’ve added a few key pieces to the puzzle.

The addition of Brandon Marshall, DJ Fluker, and Evan Engram could prove to be the push the New York Giants need in 2017.

Simms believes that the Giants should be at the top of the league, and no one stands in their way, but themselves.

"“They have no excuses this season. They’re in the conversation for the best receiving corps in football, the best secondary in football and the best defensive line in football. When you have those three things plus Super Bowl-winning quarterback in Eli Manning, you have a legit football team.” -Chris Simms"

Simms is right. The Giants don’t have any sort of an excuse this season. They have all of the pieces to win it all, and most of all, they have the veteran talent to boot.

Next: Evan Engram is going to be huge for Big Blue

There is no reason for the New York Giants to not get to a Super Bowl this season. Being second on Simms’s list is just the start for 2017, and it’s exciting to see what will happen come time for kickoff.
