New York Knicks: Offseason Review and Updates on What’s Next
New York added some young talent in the 2017 NBA Draft.
The Knicks passed on Dennis Smith Jr., Malik Monk, AND Luke Kennard in order to draft Frank Ntilikina.
In Europe this past season, Ntilikina averaged 5.1 points per game…and the Knicks drafted him 8th overall. Makes you wonder what Phil Jackson was thinking.
Ntilikina is a 6’5″ point guard with a nearly 7-foot wingspan. Ntilikina is a player who might start his rookie season because of the likely departure of Derrick Rose.
If Derrick Rose does end up leaving New York, Knicks fans will come to know Frank Ntilikina very quickly.
He will have no problem transferring over to the NBA as he has already been playing professional ball in France. This will translate into his game and Knicks fans will come to love him and his style of play, just like they did with Kristaps Porzingis.

The Knicks also drafted Damyean Dotson and Ognjen Jaramaz.
Dotson is a guard out of the University of Houston who the Knicks selected with their 44th pick. The Knicks drafted Dotson for his exceptional rebounding ability for a guard.
Dotson is also an elite 3 point shooter. He will be able to be a quality role player for the Knicks at the one and the two.
Jaramaz, like Frank Ntilikina, is a foreign point guard. The Knicks took Jaramaz with their 58th pick out of Yugoslavia.
With their moves this offseason, the Knicks seem to be loaded at the guard position, adding point guards in Frank Ntilikina and Ognjen Jaramaz, and shooting guards in Tim Hardaway Jr., Ron Baker, and Damyean Dotson.
