Number Three: Rob Refsnyder

Yankees fans across the board know the damage Rob Refsnyder is capable of. The only problem is, he really hasn’t found a home in the field.

A few years ago Refsnyder was widely regarded as one of the Yankees top infield prospects. He came up as a natural second baseman, but has since become a utility player for the Bombers.

He’s been found at first base, and even sometimes in right field this season.

There’s no real pressure for Refsnyder to perform to keep a job if Torres were to get called up. The only thing that could really happen if he doesn’t perform well, and Torres gets called up, is that he would be high on the trade list.

While Torres is hurt, Ref has to give the front office good reason to not be traded.

He will never take the starting third base role, but he is easy trade bait. He’s a good fielder with a quick bat, and now he’s playing for a roster spot.

If he can’t step up, I’m not sure how much longer he will be a Yankee.
