Number Four: The Return of Aroldis Chapman

The return of Aroldis Chapman to the New York Yankees bullpen is going to be huge for the rest of the season.

Chapman’s struggles were clearly injury based, and if he comes back healthy, the Yanks are in business. His overpowering fastball is so difficult to deal with as a hitter, and when his curve is working, say goodnight.

Since Chapman went of the DL, Dellin Betances is doing a great job filling his role. The guy that’s been tough to watch is Tyler Clippard.

Clippard became the Yankees setup man after Chapman left, and he’s done nothing but struggle.

Put Betances in the setup role, with a healthy Chapman closing, that’s all she wrote if the Yankees have the lead entering the eighth.

Clippard is putting the Bombers in bad situations when he comes in. His changeup is his go to pitch. If hitters sit back on it, it’s an easy pitch to serve the other way. It’s way too predictable especially with the short porch in right field.

When Chapman comes back, the Yankees are just adding a missile to their dominant arsenal of All-Stars.
