Number Five: Tampa Bay Rays (19-21)

In the overall AL East standings, the Rays rank fourth, but they look about ready to tumble.

The Rays have been hit with a rocky month of May, and over their last ten games, they are 4-6. They are showing clear signs of being the low dog in the race, and with the Blue Jays surging from the bottom, it’s going to be a year long catchup for Tampa Bay.

It’s tough to really say the Rays are out of it, but… I’ll be the first to say… they’re out of it.

They’re just not a very good team, and they don’t have very much working in their direction.

Yes they are young, but so is basically every other team in the division. If anything, this season has exposed the Rays as one of the worst scouting teams in the league.

Their development is god awful, and they don’t have veteran fire power that will propel them into the next level.

Getting rid of Wil Myers is going to haunt the Rays for a long time because he could’ve been the future of this organization.

Sorry Tampa, it looks like you’re set to be locked in the basement for a long time coming.
