The New York Yankees are among the league’s best teams, and continue to prove it in the weekly AL East Power Rankings.

The New York Yankees continue to stay atop the AL East, but they had a bit of a stumble this weekend.

After a red hot start to the month of May, the Yankees went toe-to-to with the Houston Astros. A tough for game set found the Yanks on the wrong end of a 3-1 series break, but make no mistake, the Yankees are for real.

The AL East is one of the toughest divisions in baseball, but it has sort of settled into a groove at this point in the season.

Like it or not, every division in baseball settles into what it will be throughout most of the season. The bottom feeders separate from the pack, the top fight for first, and there’s usually a team that hangs in “Mediocrity Land” as I like to call it.

After a little bit of a shake up this week, it is clear that the AL East is ready to settle into its shape. Come time for the All-Star break, and there will be a clear divide among the AL East.
