New York Giants: 2017 is Offense or Bust for Big Blue
The New York Giants offense is full of talented players heading into the 2017 season. All of the eggs are in one basket for Big Blue heading into the new season.
New York Giants football is entering an era fans that should be excited for. The era of the offense.
After drafting Evan Engram out of Ole Miss, it is clear that Jerry Reese has the Giants heading in the direction of high-powered offense. As far back as the 1980s, the Giants have been synonymous with defense, so this new trend is a big change for fans.
It is unusual to see Big Blue heading in this direction. The NFC East is one of the best divisions in football, and it is powered by offense.
The Dallas Cowboys are obviously a power, and the Eagles added a few offensive pieces this offseason.
That being said, it’s the Giants division to lose.
New York is waiting for a running game to blossom, and this year it is possible. The Giants receiving corps is one of the best in the league, pair it with a talented back, and it’ll be good times in New York.
The offense is set up with Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, and now Engram. Eli Manning is going to throw the ball 40 times per game, and fans should be okay with that.
Football is a constantly changing game, and the Giants are a prime example of it. A team that was once primarily defensively based is now an offensive powerhouse.
