The Celtics have a ton of assets at their disposal thanks to Billy King and the Brooklyn Nets. The Celtics won the Eastern Conference this regular season but will be selecting in the top-four of the 2017 NBA Draft thanks to a previous trade. They have the ammunition to get a deal done if they want to pull the trigger.

The Celtics have been rumored to have an interest in some big names on the wings in Jimmy Butler, Paul George, and even Carmelo Anthony. The biggest problem for the Celtics has been inside. Porzingis could fill that void alongside Al Horford in the middle. The war chest of assets they possess put them in the discussion for any big name player that becomes available.

While all three of those players would help, the biggest problem for the Celtics has been on the interior. Al Horford could use some help on the inside, which Porzingis would theoretically provide. He and Horford would combine for an intriguing front court combination as their skill sets would play well off of each other.

Porzingis in Celtics green would be a difficult thing for Knicks fans to see. While trading with their division rival is unlikely, the Celtics could be able to put together the type of package for Porzingis that the Knicks wouldn’t immediately hang up the phone on.
