Wide Receiver, Eric Decker

Decker has been a good player for the Jets since signing as a free agent in 2014 from the Denver Broncos. But, the Jets are in a full on rebuild, so there may not be much of a need for the injured Decker.

Decker tried to fight through a shoulder injury early in the 2016 season but was eventually forced to shut it down. He made it through only three games and eventually underwent surgery on his rotator cuff. In addition to the shoulder ailment, Decker also had surgery on his hip.

The Jets are hoping that Decker is ready to go for training camp, but it could be with another team. There have been some rumors that the Jets are going to move on from Decker, which makes some sense. He is coming off two pretty serious surgeries and is 30-years old. There isn’t much need for that on a rebuilding team if it means that they could save some money.

The Jets have added a number of wide receivers this offseason, so they could decide to move on from Decker. Decker was playing well last season before going down with an injury. He should have good football ahead of him, and there are some uses for a veteran on a rebuilding team. But with rumors abound, Decker could be with another team once he is healthy.
