Finally! The Jets addressed the cornerback position. Clark has the size Bowles looks for in corners he likes to deploy at 6’3 and 220 pounds. However, an ACL tear made it impossible for Clark to show what he could do in the draft process and will not be on the field until late in training camp.

The size and ball skills could allow Clark to be an eventual starter in the Jets defensive scheme, with plus ball skills and the size and speed to play press and man-to-man. New York’s medical staff must be confident that Clark will be ready to go for the season or it’s hard to imagine the team not justing waiting to sign him as an undrafted free agent.

With the lack of depth at the corner position, if he’s healthy, Clark should be able to make the opening day roster. Like Justin Burris, he is a project with a high ceiling that may be thrust into key playing time this season.

A good late pick with a high ceiling and that should make the final roster in the sixth round is a solid pick.
