The Nationals continue to be the team to beat in the NL East after a great month of April. As the only team over .500 in the NL East, the Nationals are the clear choice for the No.1 spot in the rankings.

While the Nationals are playing well, they did suffer a big blow this week. Outfielder Adam Eaton was lost for the rest of the season after tearing his ACL. This season, Eaton was batting .297 and was doing an excellent job setting the table for the big hitters in the lineup.

This week, the Nationals were able to have a winning record once again, as they won three out of four games on the road in Colorado. However, the Nationals did slip up in their weekend series against the Mets at home.

The Nationals lost two out of three games to the Mets, but they were able to destroy them on Sunday. After an injury forced Noah Syndergaard to leave the game early, the Nationals’ offense went nuts. In the win on Sunday, the Nationals scored 23 runs, and Anthony Rendon was able to total 10 RBIs in one game. With a comfortable lead in the divison, the Nationals should be happy heading into May.
