First Round Pick: O.J. Howard; Tight End, Alabama

Howard has been one of the fastest rising players up the draft board. There have been mock drafts slotting him as high as No.4 to the Jacksonville Jaguars. There are a number of teams that would love to have Howard given his skill set, and the Giants would be ecstatic to see him fall into their laps at No.23.

Howard is one of the highest rated prospects in this draft and fills a major need for the Giants. He would give Eli Manning a legitimate weapon to work the seam, something the Giants have lacked recently. Manning has made the most of the players he is throwing to at tight end even if they aren’t the most talented around; Howard would easily be the best tight end the Giants since Jeremy Shockey.

Howard didn’t have great stats at Alabama as there were so many other talents around him, but he is easily the best tight end in this year’s class. He had excellent showings at the senior bowl and combine to showcase his athleticism.

Howard also brings solid blocking skills, making him the complete package. He would give Manning another weapon to utilize and add a missing dimension to the Giants offense.
