The New York Giants 2017 preseason schedule has been announced as they will face teams from the AFC North and AFC East.

The focus for the New York Giants and their fans right now is on the 2017 NFL Draft. The Giants have had a strong offseason thus far and will look to cap that off by adding some more talent in the draft.

Once those picks are made and the Giants roster is set, people will look forward to seeing all the new faces on the field. The first time to see the new Giants in action is in the preseason. While they don’t play full games, it is the first glimpse we will get of the Giants as they look to build off their strong 2016 season.

Now, we know who the Giants will be playing. Their 2017 preseason schedule was released and there will be some familiar foes on there.

More from New York Giants

The Giants will kick off their preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers. A time and day have not yet been released by the game, but anytime that Odell Beckham Jr. and Antonio Brown are on the field people will tune in, even if it is just for a series or two.

This could also be the final time that we see Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning take the field against each other. The 2004 NFL Draft class members are coming close to the end of their careers; Roethlisberger contemplated retirement this offseason and the Giants have not shied away from talk about finding Manning’s successor this offseason.

In Week 2 the Giants will be in primetime. They will head on the road and face the Cleveland Browns on Monday night, August 21st at 8:00 PM ET. There isn’t much to get excited about here, but it could be the first time Giants fans get to see potential No.1 overall pick Myles Garrett or one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s draft class.

In Week 3 the Giants renew their rivalry with the New York Jets in the Snoopy Bowl. This is usually the most we see of the Giants starters and there will be some added intrigue in this one. It will be the first time we see Brandon Marshall and Geno Smith going up against their former team. Damon Harrison got to experience that last season in his first matchup against his old team.

The time and day for the game against the Jets have not yet been announced. That is the case for the Giants final game of the preseason as well against the New England Patriots. We will see very little if any, of the starters in this game. It could be the last chance for some players to make an impression to either earn a spot with the Giants or get picked up after final cuts.

Week 4 of the preseason should be the best chance we get to see the young guys play. It is not always the cleanest football, but there is sometimes some storylines to follow as guys are playing for their jobs.
