Bronson Koenig

The top player to watch in this Sweet 16 matchup between Wisconsin and Florida is point guard Bronson Koenig. The senior guard is the most important player for the Badgers, and he is key to them winning. When Koenig is playing well, it appears to be contagious for the Badgers. After suffering a calf injury late in the season, Koenig appears to be healthy and is playing at a high level in the NCAA Tournament so far.

In the first round against Virginia Tech, Koenig had one of the best games of any player in the opening round. Koenig was able to total 28 points on a ridiculous nine-for-17 shooting from deep in the win. Scoring against Virginia Tech was important for Wisconsin due to Virginia Tech’s explosive offense. Led by Koenig, Wisconsin was able to score 84 points for an opening round win.

As the underdogs against Villanova, Koenig played well once again for the Badgers. In the upset win, Koenig totaled 17 points on seven-for-11 shooting. Due to foul trouble, Koenig was only able to play 27 minutes against Villanova. However, he was excellent on the offensive end when he was on the court. As a senior guard, expect a big game from Koenig in the Sweet 16 against Florida.
