The Brooklyn Nets losing continued Saturday night as the Golden State Warriors cruised to victory.

Final. 112. 41. 95. 147

The Brooklyn Nets losing continued against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night. The Warriors easily handled the Nets, who gave the Warriors a game for almost a full half.

Brooklyn actually took the lead briefly in the second quarter, going ahead 46-45 on a Joe Harris three-pointer with 4:01 remaining in the first half. The Nets would cut the lead back down to one point about a minute later on a Jeremy Lin three-pointer. That would be as close as the Nets would get the remainder of the game.

The Warriors would reel off a 12-2 run the final 3:04 to finish the second quarter. They would go into the half up 62-51 and cruise to the victory in the second half. It is hard enough for the Nets to keep pace if they are playing at their highest level, but they received a dud from Brook Lopez.

Lopez scored only nine points in the game, going 3-of-13 from the field and 1-of-7 from inside the three-point line. He added only four rebounds but did hand out five assists with one steal and one block.

More from Brooklyn Nets

One encouraging takeaway from the game for the Nets was that Jeremy Lin made it through without a problem. He is still on a strict minutes limit, and played only 15 minutes, but it was nice to see him play on both nights of a back-to-back set. It shows that he is getting healthier and should be able to contribute down the stretch run of the season for Brooklyn.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson led the way for Golden State. They were the only two players on the Warriors to reach double-figures, as Kevin Durant sat out tonight. Curry scored a game-high 27, while Thompson scored 24.

Three Stars

SF Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Nets — With Bojan Bogdanovic traded away at the deadline, the Nets have a lot of minutes available on the wing. Hollis-Jefferson is one of the players that will take on some of those minutes and he made the most of them Saturday. In only 21 minutes, Hollis-Jefferson recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He added one assist and one steal as well.

PF Trevor Booker, Nets — Booker has been a consistent performer for the Brooklyn this season. He is now coming off the bench, but that has not slowed down his production. He recorded his 16th double-double of the season, scoring 12 points with 10 rebounds. He also had one assist in his 27 minutes of play.

SG Sean Kilpatrick, Nets — Kilpatrick has been a nice find for Brooklyn this season. He has been a good performer despite coming into the season with a small role. He joined the double-double party against the Warriors as well. Kilpatrick scored 15 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. He will continue having a role despite Lin returning and should see good minutes as Lin rounds himself back into shape.
