Brooklyn Nets Get Jeremy Lin Back, Continue Losing vs Denver Nuggets
The Brooklyn Nets got Jeremy Lin back in the lineup Friday after a lengthy absence but the Denver Nuggets still blew them out.
The Brooklyn Nets received some reinforcements on Friday night against the Denver Nuggets. Their marquee free agent acquisition, Jeremy Lin, was back in the lineup after missing the last 26 games because of a hamstring injury.
It was the second hamstring injury that Lin has suffered this season. Friday’s game against the Nuggets marked only his 13th appearance this season; not exactly what the Nets had hoped for when they signed him to a three-year, $36 million deal this past offseason.
It was nice to see Lin back on the court, even though he will be on a strict minutes limit. Against the Nuggets he played 15 minutes, going 2-of-3 from the field, scoring seven points with five assists., two rebounds, and only one turnover.

That is a solid game for Lin, but it didn’t change the outcome. The Nets would get blown out of the Pepsi Center by the Nuggets 129-109. Getting Lin back is nice, but he wasn’t able to get the team get off the snide.
The loss puts the Nets record at 9-49 on the season. They have not won since January 21st, losing 15 consecutive games. They have won only once in 2017 and have only four wins since December began.
It has been tough sledding for the Nets and things do not look like they will let up. Friday’s game against the Nuggets was the start of an eight-game road trip; they will not play at Barclays Center again until March 12th as other events, such as the ACC Conference Tournament, will take place at the Barclays Center.
Last night against the Nuggets, the Nets allowed Denver to do whatever they wanted. Denver shot 50.5 percent overall from the field and 45.2 percent from deep. Wilson Chandler and Gary Harris dominated Brooklyn, scoring 24 and 25 points respectively. They were two of five Nuggets players to score in double-figures in the game.

Things will not get any easier for the Nets as they continue their road trip. They finish a back-to-back set tonight against the Golden State Warriors. After that, they travel to California to play the Sacramento Kings. That, or the final game of the road trip against the Dallas Mavericks, are the best chance the Nets have to win a game on the trip.
