The Brooklyn Nets suffered yet another loss Monday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Saying the Brooklyn Nets are struggling right now would be an understatement. The losses have piled up at a rapid pace, as they entered Monday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies with losing streaks no team ever wants to be a part of.
The Nets have a woeful record of 9-46, the last team in the league that has yet to reach double-digit victories. Monday was another chance to hit 10, but they once again fell short. The Grizzlies handled the Nets with ease, winning 112-103.
With the loss, the Nets losing streak reached 13 games. Brooklyn has only one victory in 2017 and has lost 24 of their last 25 games. That is a lot of losses to have, and they are beginning to wear on a young Nets squad. The Grizzlies were not going to help console the Nets with a victory, as they handled their business at the Barclays Center.

The Nets had no answer for Mike Conley. Conley remains to fly under the radar despite signing the most lucrative contract in NBA history this past offseason. He showed the Nets just how talented he is, scoring 32 points. He went 10-of-16 from the field, making 2-of-4 from deep, and 10-of-11 from the foul line. He also added six assists, one rebound, one steal, and only one turnover in 37 minutes.

Conley was one of five Grizzlies to finish the game with double-digit points, being joined by Marc Gasol, JaMychal Green, Brandon Wright, and the ageless Vince Carter.
The Nets received solid contributions as well, but it was not enough to keep up with the Grizzlies. Brooklyn had six players in double-figures, with Brook Lopez and Spencer Dinwiddie leading the way with 17 apiece.
The Nets changed up their rotation and lineups against the Grizzlies, as Trevor Booker was moved to the bench. He had a good game, scoring 13 points with four rebounds and one steal, but the end result was still the same for Brooklyn.

The Nets will finish up their homestand Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks before heading into the All-Star break. If the Nets don’t pick up a victory there, it could be a while before they steal a win. Following the All-Star break, Brooklyn heads on a daunting eight-game road trip that lasts from February 24th through March 10th.
