The Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks will face each other for the final time this season tonight. The Knicks were able to defeat the Lakers 118-112 at the Staples Center on December 11th. Can the Lakers return the favor on the Knicks home court tonight?
Both teams are looking to get a win to help get things on track. For the Knicks, the playoffs are still a real possibility; but landing in the top-five of the 2017 NBA Draft is as well. The Lakers wouldn’t mind landing another top pick to add to their already impressive group of youngsters.
This is a game that the Knicks need to win with the schedule they have coming up. Following tonight’s game, the Knicks play three out of four games against playoff teams heading into the All-Star break. Getting a victory tonight would give them some momentum to try and finish the first half strong.

They will be getting some help tonight, as point guard Derrick Rose will be returning to the lineup. Rose has missed the previous four games because of an ankle injury, but head coach Jeff Hornacek said that he is ready to go.
But, the Knicks will not have their whole lineup intact tonight. Starting center Joakim Noah will be out of the lineup tonight because of a hamstring injury. Noah was injured against the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday night, as he played only six minutes.
The Knicks should be able to overcome the loss of Noah; they have lost only once this season whenever Noah has sat out, winning five of six games.
