New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning knows a thing or two about beating the New England Patriots. With his experience has also come advice for Matt Ryan.

This postseason, the New York Giants were eliminated from the playoffs this season by the Green Bay Packers. With the Patriots being the expected representative from the AFC, many were hoping to see the Giants face Tom Brady and the Patriots for the third time.

Despite being underdogs in both games, Eli Manning and the Giants were able to defeat the Patriots. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan will be trying to follow in the footsteps of Manning to defeat Brady in Super Bowl 51. Manning has a good relationship with Ryan and gave him some advice heading into his first Super Bowl.

“I think his advice was, ‘You guys know yourselves, and you know what you do,’ ” Ryan told Dan Duggan of NJ.com. “And at the end of the day, that’s probably some of the best advice you can get is to trust what we do and trust our process and who we are and how we do things. And I think we’ll be ready to go.”

Ryan praised Manning for both of his Super Bowl wins. While the defense and a little bit of luck were involved, Manning did play very well against the Patriots.

“He made some spectacular plays down the stretch,” Ryan said of Manning’s two Super Bowl appearances against the Patriots. “He just played good football throughout the game, and when opportunities were there to make plays, he made them. He’s certainly done a great job of that throughout his career, but specifically, in those games, I mean, he did a great job with that.”

Eli’s brother Peyton is also friends with Ryan and is no stranger to facing off against Brady in big games.

“It’s one of those things — trust what you do and trust your process,” Ryan said of Peyton’s Super Bowl advice to Duggan. “Handle some of the things that you need to handle that go along with this game early. Get that stuff out of the way. And I’ve certainly done that.”

For Ryan, he will be under a lot of pressure in his first Super Bowl. Facing one of the best players of all-time in Brady on the biggest stage is certainly a tall task. Also, he will have to face a defense that has played extremely well this season. With the biggest game of his life a few days away, Ryan is wise to get advice.
