Who will the New York Giants select with their first round pick? We take a look at five players they could target.

As soon as the season ended for the New York Giants, fans everywhere began to speculate who the team would take in the 2017 NFL Draft. Would they take an offensive lineman? A defensive linemen? Maybe even a running back?

There have been many rumors that Jason Pierre-Paul won’t be back next season, and if that ends up being true, it would change the team’s entire draft strategy. However, there is still a chance that Pierre-Paul comes back. General Manager Jerry Reese should be viewing his draft strategy hanging on the hinges of the Pierre-Paul deal.

The Giants had a top defense in the NFL but offensively didn’t stack up quite the same way. The trenches were where the Giants offense fell short. The lack of true tackles on the outside of the offensive line was key in the team’s incapability to run the football.

So now the question isn’t what position the Giants will pick in the first round. The question becomes will the Giants draft with a defensive mindset or an offensive mindset. There are a number of players that fill the Giants’ needs that have first round talent, and they would all be put into a big role in their first year.

Let’s take a look at the possible names the Giants could call on April 27.
