The Brooklyn Nets and Quincy Acy have agreed to a two-year contract after he played well on 10-day contracts.
The Brooklyn Nets have struggled on the court with a 9-38 record. But, they continue to find productive players on the cheap, with the most recent being Quincy Acy.
The Nets had originally signed Acy to a 10-day contract on January 10th. They gave him a second 10-day contract once that one expired. With 10-day contracts now exhausted for Acy, the Nets have decided to keep him for the long haul.
The Nets and Acy agreed to a two-year deal, which will keep him in Brooklyn for the remainder of this season and next season. The move was announced by Shams Charania of The Vertical.

The 26-year old Acy originally began the season with the Dallas Mavericks. He appeared in only six games with the Mavericks before he was waived; the Mavericks needed to clear a roster spot to add a guard.
Acy then played in the NBA D-League with the Mavericks affiliate, the Texas Legends. He played very well for the Legends, averaging 17.3 points and 8.2 rebounds in 12 games. His performance caught the eye of the Nets, who then signed him to the first 10-day contract on January 10th; the first day 10-day contracts are allowed to be handed out.
His production carried over to Brooklyn. In 10 games, averaging 12 minutes per game, Acy has put up 7.0 points and 2.7 rebounds. Acy gives the Nets another veteran to turn to in the front court as they continue to control the reps of some players on the team.
Power forward is a fluid position for the Nets currently. Trevor Booker has played well, but could be someone the team shops at the NBA Trade Deadline. The Nets have also had players succeed there in small-ball lineups, such as Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Caris LeVert. Regardless, Acy should have a role going forward.

The Nets are the fifth organization that Acy has played for in his five-year career. He has two separate stints with the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings, and has also spent time with the New York Knicks in addition to the Mavericks.
