Number Four: Letting Victor Cruz Walk

Listen I know this is probably a travesty for most Giants fans to hear, but it has to be done. Cruz has been injury ridden, and one of this least reliable targets Manning had this year.

Cruz has been a Giants fan favorite since he burst onto the scene in 2011. He had an unbelievable season that year, racking up over 1,500 yards receiving and nine touchdowns, but has seen his production go down steadily year after year.

Cruz has only suited up for 21 games since 2014, and in that time he has only tallied 923 yards and two touchdowns. At this point, Cruz is 30 years old, and as much as Giants nation loves him, he has to go.

With Sterling Shepard taking the slot job from Cruz, players like Roger Lewis and Tavarres King on the outside, I believe the Giants will be fine without Cruz. Lewis had glimmers of being a great outside compliment to Beckham all season, and King came on strong at the end of the year showing the same hope as a deep threat. Cruz has been a mainstay for the Giants, but it’s time to watch number 80 salsa into the sunset.
