Giants fans were hoping that playoff Eli Manning would show up against the Packers. Despite the tough regular season he had, Manning delivered a close to playoff performance; unfortunately, his receivers were unable to step up for him.

Manning ended the game with underwhelming stats, completing only 23-of-44 passes for 299 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, but he could have had a much better afternoon. His receivers dropped the ball, literally, as they had at least five drops throughout the afternoon.

Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard each dropped what would have been a touchdown. Beckham had multiple drops for only the third time in his career as he had a disappointing playoff debut. Beckham Jr. finished with only four receptions for 28 yards, while Shepard had four receptions for 63 yards.

The two players to stand out for the Giants in the passing game were tight end Will Tye and wide receiver Tavarres King. Tye had a long catch and run in the second quarter, setting up a field goal. King caught Manning’s touchdown on a deep shot in the third quarter to get the Giants back into the game that went for 41 yards.

Otherwise, it was a slow afternoon through the air for the Giants against a secondary that is banged up and has been exploited all season. Manning was sacked twice and hit three times, but the Packers began getting pressure on Manning in the second half, throwing the offense out of sync.
