The New York Giants had a rough Wild Card weekend against the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field. The Packers ended up blowing out the Giants, ending an underwhelming first round of the NFL Playoffs in which all of the home teams blew out their visitors. The Giants, based on spreads, had the best chance of pulling off the upset but they couldn’t get out of their own way.

The Giants were unable to take advantage of opportunities presented to them. They didn’t seem fully engaged from the opening kickoff, as they played sloppy, undisciplined football throughout the afternoon. Drops and an inability to sustain drives eventually caught up to the Giants as Aaron Rodgers methodically picked them apart.

The Giants had a golden chance to take control early in the game. The defense was dominating the Packers offense, but once again the Giants offense came up short. They were unable to punch in any of their opening drives for touchdowns, settling for field goals. That is a recipe for disaster against on the road, especially against a team has hot as the Packers.

Eventually, the Packers offense got on track but the Giants stayed in neutral. An injury to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on the second defensive play of the game derailed the Giants game plan as they weren’t able to recover once the Packers made their adjustments.

There was a lot to take away from this game for the Giants, unfortunately, most of it was negative. Check out our team grades for the Giants from their disappointing loss to the Packers in their Wild Card matchup.
