The New York Knicks had their doors blown off by the Indiana Pacers on Saturday Night.

Final. 123. 100. 109. 27

It was another long night for the New York Knicks on Saturday. The Indiana Pacers blew them out of Bankers Life Fieldhouse as the Knicks had no answer for Indiana. Tonight was the end of a back-to-back for the Knicks that saw a jubilant win Friday and a flat outing, resulting in defeat, tonight.

With the loss, the Knicks record drops to 17-20 on the season, losers in seven of their last eight games. Their record away from Madison Square Garden falls to 6-13. The Pacers, on the other hand, are now riding a five-game winning streak and are a dominant 15-5 at home.

Tonight, the Pacers took it to the Knicks early and often. They went up by nearly 30 points in the game as the Knicks had no answer; they looked like a team that played the previous night as they were flat and listless all evening against Indiana.

The second quarter really did the Knicks in, as Indiana outscored them 29-14 before heading into halftime. It opened the Pacers lead up to 19 points, which they added seven more points to by the end of the third quarter.

More from New York Knicks

The Knicks put together a strong fourth quarter on the back of their bench one again. While they weren’t able to come all the way back like last night against the Bucks, it was still an encouraging end to what was a disappointing game overall. Brandon Jennings, Kristaps Porzingis, Ron Baker, Willy Hernangomez, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas played almost the whole fourth quarter.

The only subs Jeff Hornacek made were Justin Holiday for Porzingis with 1:16 left and then Courtney Lee for Jennings after he was ejected with 21 seconds remaining.

Outside of their performance in the fourth quarter, it was a very ugly game for the Knicks once again. Their defense is just not up to par where it needs to be and opponents are taking full advantage on a nightly basis.

Three Stars

PG Jeff Teague, Pacers — Teague was someone that the Knicks were reportedly interested in acquiring last season. A deal never came to fruition, as Teague was traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Pacers this offseason. The Pacers are happy with the move and he ran the offense well against New York tonight. Teague finished the game with 19 points, eight assists, four rebounds, and one steal.

SF Carmelo Anthony, Knicks — While it wasn’t a great night for the Knicks, Anthony had a solid game. He played only 27 minutes but was still productive in that time on the court. He scored a team-high tying 17 points on 6-of-14 from the field with two rebounds and five assists. The five assists are encouraging, as Anthony has had seven and 10 assists in the last two games. It is the best stretch of assisting in Anthony’s career as he seems to be gaining trust in his teammates.

C Myles Turner, Pacers — Turner is from the same draft class as Kristaps Porzingis, one that is shaping up as a strong class in the early going. Turner quickly became a regular in the Pacers’ rotation and the Knicks saw first-hand tonight. He finished the game with a double-double, scoring 13 points with 10 rebounds, adding two assists as well.
