5.) Matthew Stafford

In his first season without Calvin Johnson, Matthew Stafford has had arguably one of his best for the Detroit Lions. Being forced to look at other options has helped Stafford grow as a quarterback, and the Lions are back in the playoffs.

This season, Stafford has totaled 24 passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and 4,327 passing yards. Unfortunately for the Lions and Stafford, they are coming into the playoffs with a three-game losing streak.

During that losing streak, it is no coincidence that Stafford has struggled. With an injured finger on his throwing hand, Stafford has totaled two touchdown passes and three interceptions in his last three games.

Even though he has been great for most of the season, it’s hard to have confidence in Stafford after watching him throw the ball the past three games. The Lions do have more on the team than just Stafford, but the quarterback is obviously the most important position on the field.

Unless there is a magical recovery for Stafford since Sunday Night Football against the Packers, don’t expect the Lions to make it out of the first round of the playoffs. It’s unfortunate to say, but the finger injury to Stafford will likely end the Lions’ season on Saturday night.
