Ryan Clady
2017 Cap Hit: $ 10,500,000
Cap Penalty: $500,000

From right tackle we now move to left tackle. After having a left tackle who never missed a start in D’Brickashaw Ferguson, the Jets replaced their former left tackle with Ryan Clady. However, Clady proved that he can’t stay helathy.

Going into 2017, Clady has the third highest salary behind Muhammad Wilkerson and Revis with a hit of $10.5 Million. Given that he only started 8 games in 2016, unless he renegotiates his contract, it’s hard to see New York paying him the premium left tackle rate while cutting Clady will only result in $500,000 in dead cap.

The offensive line is due for an overhaul and cutting their highly paid and oft injured tackles seems like a good place to start for the Jets.
