Dolphins vs Jets: 5 Players To Watch On Saturday Night
Petty will be making his second consecutive start and third start of his career. He actually made his first career pass against the Dolphins in the first matchup this season, and will now be under center from the start.
Will he be able to build off of last week’s performance against the 49ers? Petty had an up-and-down performance and was aided by the 49ers seemingly disinterest in winning the game. He completed 23-of-35 passes for 257 yards and one interception. He added four rushes for 19 yards and converted a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter showing a lot of guts diving into the end zone.
It was a solid comeback for Petty and Jets no matter the competition. But, can he do that against a step up in competition? The Dolphins are giving up the 10th least passing yards per game and have the 10th lowest quarterback rating against. They also have 13 interceptions on the season, the fourth-most by a team thus far in the NFL.
Can Petty get anything going against them tonight? It will be a much tougher game than against the 49ers last week as the Dolphins have something more to play for other than a draft spot.
