On Sunday, the Jets will be seeing a familiar face. Wide receiver Jeremy Kerley was a solid player for the Jets, for the 49ers, he is their No. 1 wide receiver. While Kerley is certainly a solid NFL player, he as a team’s No.1 wide receiver is not a recipe for success.

So far this season, Kerley has totaled 43 receptions, 466 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns. Due to the struggles of Torrey Smith, Kerley will be the wide receiver that the Jets will likely be focusing on.

In 2016, the Jets secondary hasn’t really stopped anyone. Due to Kerley lining up in the slot, he can cause even more matchup problems for the Jets. Even though it is a new regime in town, the organization should know what Kerley is capable of.

With the Jets in 2012, Kerley totaled 56 receptions, 827 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns. Due to the Jets still having a good rushing defense, Kaepernick might be throwing the ball a bit more in this game. Kerley was able to total over 100 receiving yards against the Arizona Cardinals earlier in the season. Against the poor Jets passing defense, he could certainly accomplish that once again.
