– Lack of pressure

One of the most disappointing things for the Jets this season has been their pass-rush. With a defensive line that has Leonard Williams, Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson, that trio should be causing havoc. However, this season, it has only been Williams who has played well for the Jets. In Week 1, the Jets looked like they would be one of the best teams at getting after the quarterback. Since that seven-sack game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the pass rush has been nowhere to be found.

In a favorable matchup against the Colts offensive line, the Jets defensive line once again didn’t get the job done. This season, the Colts have allowed 39 sacks, which second-worst in the NFL. With a dynamic combination of Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton, forcing quick throws would have helped a secondary that has struggled all season.

In the loss, the Jets were only able to record one sack, as Williams and Deon Simon split it. One of the most shocking things for the Jets was that Richardson didn’t even get on the stat sheet. Besides an unsportsmanlike penalty, Richardson’s name was hardly mentioned in the game. Considering the talent the Jets have on the defensive line, it was awful not to see them get to Luck at least a couple of times in the game.
