New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins was not impressed with Cleveland Browns wide receiver Terrelle Pryor and let be known on his Twitter account.

The New York Giants picked up a victory over the Cleveland Browns this past week, winning 27-13. It wasn’t a pretty game but the Giants ran their winning streak to six games on the season. The Browns, meanwhile, have lost every game this season and now sit at 0-11.

There aren’t many bright spots on the Browns. They haven’t been close in too many games and are void of much talent to use as building blocks. But, they look to have found a diamond in the rough in Terrelle Pryor.

Pryor, a quarterback turned wide receivers, has been a surprise for the Browns this season. He has always been supremely athletic but was reluctant to make a position change. With his NFL career hanging in the balance Pryor began the change last season. He showed enough during the offseason and preseason to earn a spot on the Browns roster and has ran with it.

Pryor leads the Browns with 855 receiver yards, which is eighth in the NFL. He has 62 receptions and four touchdowns, which are truly outstanding numbers when you consider who Pryor has had throwing him the football.

More from New York Giants

Pryor has been a good success story in an otherwise disastrous 2016 for the Browns. But, don’t tell that to Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins.

Jenkins and Pryor got into a bit of a war of words leading up to their teams facing off in Week 12. Jenkins didn’t consider Pryor much of a challenge, saying he is just another receiver and just big. Jenkins may have been selling Pryor a little short, but he was accurate when he said he was big; Pryor standing 6-feet-4 inches tall and weighs 223 pounds.

Pryor responded on his Twitter account, saying, “talk is talk. We will see Sunday. Never wanted to play the game as much as I do this Sunday!” Pryor backed up that talk with a strong performance against the Giants Sunday. Pryor caught six passes for 131 yards. That is a solid day, especially against a strong Giants secondary.

Again, Jenkins was having none of that. He fired off two vulgar tweets, which have since been deleted, diminishing any of the work that Pryor did in the game. Jenkins said that Pryor caught his passes in zone coverage, not against him.

In that regard, he is partly right. Pryor’s biggest play of the afternoon came against rookie Eli Apple on a 54-yard reception. You have to take what the defense gives you and that is what Pryor did. He also took the high road, agreeing with someone that said Jenkins is a top-three cornerback in the NFL.

Pryor also responded to one of Jenkins’ tweets that were deleted with some well words.

It was actually Pryor’s teammate, rookie Corey Coleman, that got the best of Jenkins that afternoon. Coleman ran a beautiful route in the fourth quarter to catch a 21-yard touchdown from Josh McCown. He had Jenkins turning around in circles, the only time Jenkins truly looked bad all afternoon.

It was a smart move on Jenkins part to delete what he wrote, but things are never truly deleted as there are screencaps and links shared. While Jenkins and the Giants got the upper hand on the field, they took a little bit of an L off of it.

Jenkins is having a great season, allowing his talent to do the talking for him on the field. There is no need to pop off on social media; just let your play continue to do the talking for you.
